The three lily cultivates from the ''Oriental'' group (Belcanto, Solaia and Aubade) we investigated morphogenetic potential for in vitro regeneration. Explants comprising leaflets isolated from bulblet obtained by in vitro propagation were cultured on MS basal medium supplemented with three cytokinin types, benzyl-adenine (BA) 0-2.0 mg/l, thidiazurone (0-2.0 mg/l and picloram (PIC) 0-3.0 mg/l. After 5 weeks in all three cv's placed on TDZ and PIC supplemented medium both somatic embryo and shoot buds regeneration were observed. Adventitious bud regeneration prevails on media with PIC levels below 1.0 mg/l while the higher concentrations stimulated somatic embryogenesis. On the TDZ supplemented media somatic embryogenesis increased and shoot regeneration decreased with increase of TDZ levels. BA on the other side stimulated only shoot regeneration which occurred also on plant growth regulator-free medium. Histological analysis was performed to pinpoint the origin of regenerants. Multiplication and rooting of isolated bulblets was followed on medium supplemented with 0.05-0.5 mg/l BA. highest bulblet multiplication (4.04 new bulblets per explant) was in cv. Aubade on medium with 0.5 mg/l BA. The length of the first leaf increased with BA concentration while the percentage of rooted bulblets decreased. BA affected also the increased of bulblet expressed by fresh weight and diameter increase. Fresh weight increases on medium with 0.05 mg/l BA were7.11; 3.39 and 3.25 mg for Aubade, Belcanto and Solaia respectively. Bulblet fresh weigh decreased with increase of BA concentration in the medium.
