AB  - The aim of the present study was to establish the extent to which the outlet waters of trout farms affect the ecosystems of the Crnica and Skrapež rivers in Serbia. We monitored selected biomarkers of oxidative stress: superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and total glutathione (GSH) in larvae of the species Ecdyonurus venosus, and simultaneously analyzed the changes in the physical and chemical parameters. The investigations were carried out in spring at four localities along the Skrapež and Crnica rivers: one upstream (the control localities), and three downstream from the fish farm outlets. On the Skrapež River, the fish farm was clearly visible and was markedly changed by the chemical parameters of the water, manifested as a decreased concentration of dissolved oxygen, increased concentrations of nitrates, nitrites, ammonium ions, total phosphorus and total organic carbon, and increased SOD and GPx activities and decreased GSH concentration in larvae from the first downstream locality as compared to the control locality. On the Crnica River, due to the high values of water flow (around 3 m3/s), effluents from the fish farm had no effect on the chemical parameters of the water or on the tested biomarkers.

AB  - The European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) is one of the most important insect pests of maize, and has a significant impact on the production of this crop. In this work, we examined the effects of different insecticides on the antioxidative defense system of O. nubilalis larvae. The experimental setup consisted of a completely randomized block design with 4 replicates. Four experimental groups were formed as follows: control (C), indoxacarb (250 mL ha-1), chlorantraniliprole (100 mL ha-1) and the chlorantraniliprole+lambda cyhalothrin (200 mL ha-1) group. Larvae from maize stems were collected 20 days after insecticide application and the whole larvae were homogenized. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione reductase (GR) and glutathione S-transferase (GST), and the total amount of free SH groups were assessed. Comparison of the experimental groups showed that indoxacarb significantly affected the activities of GST, GPx and the total amount of free SH groups, while chlorantraniliprole significantly affected the activities of SOD, CAT, GST and the total amount of free SH groups, while chlorantraniliprole+lambda cyhalothrin significantly affected the activities of CAT, GST and the total amount of free SH groups. The results show that exposure to insecticides considerably affects the antioxidative defense components of the European corn borer larvae, especially chlorantraniliprole (T2).

Fiziološka diferencijacija populacija gubara Lymantria dispar L. u odgovoru na nutritivni stres

AB  - U radu su ispitivani odgovor masa larvi V stupnja i specifične aktivnosti digestivnih
enzima (ukupnih proteaza, tripsina, leucin aminopeptidaze, α-glikozidaze i lipaze) na nutritivni
stres (taninska kiselina) kod larvi gubara Lymantria dispar L., poreklom iz trofički
različito adaptiranih populacija (hrastova i bagremova šuma).
Iz hrastove (32 legla) i bagremove (26 legala) populacije formirane su četiri eksperimentalne
grupe (HK, HT, BK, BT) tako što je iz svakog jajnog legla (ful sib) određen broj
larvi gajen na kontrolnoj dijeti i na dijeti sa dodatkom 5% taninske kiseline, (5% na masu suve
supstance dijete).
Prisustvo 5% taninske kiseline u dijeti značajno je smanjilo mase larvi po ulasku u V
stupanj i mase larvi 3. dana V stupnja kod larvi poreklom iz obe populacije. U prisustvu
taninske kiseline u dijeti pokazano je značajno smanjenje specifičnih aktivnosti endoproteaza
kod larvi poreklom iz obe populacije i značajno smanjenje specifidne aktivnosti α-glikozidaze
kod larvi poreklom iz hrastove populacije. Specifična aktivnost lipaze značajno je veća kod
larvi poreklom iz obe populacije u prisustvu 5% taninske kiseline u dijeti.
Za ispitivane mase larvi nisu pokazane značajne razlike uslovljene različitim populacionim
poreklom dok je prisustvo taninske kiseline u dijeti značajno uticalo na variranje ispitivanih
osobina. Uočava se odsustvo značajne interakcije "populacija x tretman", odnosno
odsustvo lokalne adaptacije. Za specifične aktivnosti digestivnih enzima dobijene su značajne
razlike uslovljene kako različitim populacionim poreklom, tako i prisustvom taninske kiseline
u dijeti. Značajna interakcija "populacija x tretman" (lokalna adaptacija) pokazana je za specifičnu
aktivnost α-glikozidaze i specifičnu aktivnost lipaze.
