Mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) is a recognized as an ideal bioindicator in
monitoring of the marine ecosystem due to the ability of accumulation of various pollutants.
Mullus barbatus and Parapaeneus longirostris are economically important demersal
species in the trawl fishing on the shelf of the Montenegrin coast. In these investigations we
were measured the total length, weight and gender for total of 193 specimens of surmullet,
shrimp and mussel. The obtained results of basic parameters of population dynamics,
selected marine species, they were part of the monitoring of demersal resources. Further
research will be directed and on the oxidative stress parameters, in aim of monitoring
quality of the ecosystem of the bay of Kotor.
