The aim of this work is to assess ecological status of two types of watercourses in the area of Belgrade. The investigations have been performed on two sites on the Danube (Batajnica and Vinča), Sava (Zabran and Makiš) – type 1 and Kolubara Rivers (Ušće and Ćelije) – type 2. Based on the studied macroinvertebrate community parameters, ecological status of investigated rivers could be assessed as poor (IV class). Physico-chemical parameters revealed better status, which indicates that hydromorphological pressures significantly influence state of water bodies within territory of Belgrade.
