dc.description.abstract | Blasius’s Horseshoe Bat experienced significant range reduction in Europe. Roosts are almost exclusively in karst caves throughout the year, while hunting territories include open habitats, scrub and hedges. In Serbia, maternity colonies include 100-600 bats (with up to one third of non-reproductive females) and hibernation colonies up to 1,000 bats. This species has been ringed in Serbia since 1995, with 181 ringed bats (159 individuals in Lazareva Pećina cave) and 23 loco records (only one bat moved 6 km from Lazareva to Ljubinkova Pećina cave). This indicates pronounced philopatry of this species. | sr |
