Leisler’s Bat is a typical forest species, preferring roosts in natural tree hollows while woodpecker holes are more commonly occupied by Noctule bat. Summer roosts may also be situated in artificial bat houses and buildings. Maternity colonies include 20-50 females. Hibernation roosts are mostly in tree hollows but also in underground shelters or buildings, and may be very large. This species is a long-distance migrant and percentage of recovery records in Europe is below 1%, travelling up to 1,567 km from the ringing site. In Serbia there were 13 ringed bats since 2011 but there were no recovery records.sr
