AB - The topography and morpho-anatomical characteristics of floral nectaries and the chemical analysis of nectar have been studied in seven pear cultivars with different susceptibility to Erwinia amylovora. The susceptible cultivar Williams, the moderately resistant cultivars Bella di guigno, Poire de Cure and the low susceptible cultivar Alexander Lucas originated from Pyrus communis, while highly resistant cultivars Chojuro and Nijisseiki from P. pyraster and Kieffer as interspecies hybrid P. communis × P. pyraster were included in this experiment and studied for the first time. Large differences in size and structure of the nectaries were observed in these seven pear cultivars. The epidermal cells were with cuticle being more or less striated in Alexander Lucas, Kieffer and Williams. Resistant cultivars had a narrow, elongated cell shape of epidermal cells while those susceptible had an isodiametric. Stomata were mesomorphic in all cultivars except in Poire de Cure and Williams, being slightly xeromorphic since they were situated in deep hollows. Guard cells of the modified stomata were much larger in resistant cultivars. Hypanthium cells were larger in resistant compared to susceptible cultivars. The most abundant sugars were glucose, fructose, sorbitol and sucrose in nectar of all studied pear cultivars. The resistant cultivars (Chojuro, Kieffer and Nijisseiki) had a ~2-fold higher level of sorbitol and galactose, ~2.2-fold higher isomaltose, ~2.7-fold turanose, ~3.35-fold maltose, ~4.4-fold melibiose and ~12.7-fold higher melesitose compared to susceptible cultivars. The sum of quantified phenolic acids varied from 0.049 (Williams) up to 4.074 µg CAE/mL (Kieffer), while flavonoid glycosides levels ranged from 1.224 (Williams) up to 11.686 µg RE/mL (Nijisseiki). In the nectar of the resistant cultivars, rutin, apigetrin, together with patuletin and luteolin glycosides were detected but not in susceptible cultivars, which could be considered as the markers of resistance.

AB - The presence of certain elements in the soil controls their bioavailability to the plant. Uptake
of elements depends on their concentration, solubility of occurring form and soil properties. Also,
the propensity of the plant for the bioaccumulation process will condition the transfer of ions of
elements from the soil to the various parts of the plant. Sometimes good bioaccumulation properties
of plants can be used for their application for bioremediation of polluted areas.
The objective of the present study was to determine the concentrations of selected elements
in the rhizome and above-ground parts of Iris pumila grown in Deliblato Sands (Serbia) in relation
to its surrounding soil. Potassium and selenium contents (mg kg-1of dry matter) were determined
by ICP-OES method after digestion of samples. The concentration, transfer and accumulation of
some elements from the soil to rhizome and above-ground parts were evaluated in terms of Biological
Absorption Coefficient (BAC): cplant part/csoil. The concentration of K+ ions in soil, rhizome,
above-ground vegetative parts and flower were: 1,845.3 mg kg-1, 1,307.0 mg kg-1, 4,461.4 mg kg-1
and 2,875.1 mg kg-1, respectively. The presence of selenium as a trace element was confirmed both
in the soil (0.112 mg kg-1) and in the plant parts (rhizome - 0.156 mg kg-1; above-ground vegetative parts- 0.135 mg kg-1; flower - 0.122 mg kg-1). The obtained results confirmed that the aboveground
parts accumulated potassium (BACvegetative= 2.42; BACflowers= 1.56). Also, all plant parts have
shown the ability to bond selenium from soil in significant quantities (BACrhizomes= 1.38; BACvegetative= 1.20; BACflowers= 1.08). This suggests that this specie have potential in phytoremediation.

AB - Crni lug area is located in the southern Srem belonging to Pontian Pontian biogeographic region and Pannonian province. Based on the vertical zoning of vegetation, it is situated in alluvial hydrophilic forest zone. Based on floristic studies, 258 plant species were recorded, representing 8.03% of the total flora of Serbia. Species are classified into 70 families, among which the largest are Asteraceae (40), Poaceae (31), Fabaceae (18), Lamiaceae (16), Polygonaceae (15), Brassicaceae (13) and Rosaceae (13). The large number of genera (197), of which the richest are Rumex, Polygonum, Euphorbia, Carex, Paa and Galium, indicating the significant diversity of flora of this area. Flora of this region includes seven tertiary relicts: Hedera helix, Juglans regia, Vitis sylvestris, Butomus umbelatus, Humulus lupulus, Hydrocharis morsus-ranae and Trapa natans. The biological spectrum of the flora of the study region consists of: hemicryptophytes (34.2%) with a significant share of therophytes (18.3%}, geophytes. (16.2%}, thero-hemicryptophytes (14.1 %) and phanerophytes (6.3%). Scandentophytes, nanophanerophytes, aquatic helo-hydrophytes and herbaceous chamaephytes are significantly underrepresented. However, scandentophyta life form are especially stands out by quantitative representation of species such as Vitis sy/vestris, Echinocystis echinata and Humulus lupulus, that often overgrown his hosts (most species of the genus Marus) making full shade, which cause the absence of ground-floor plants. This phenomenon is common in the flooded part of the study area. The phytogeographic analysis of the study area shows the presence of 26 floral elements within eight areal types. Floral elements of wide distribution are dominant: Eurasian, sub-Eurasian, submiddle European, adventitious and cosmopolitan. Water has the greatest influence on the high prevalence of these geoelements (proximity to the river Sava and the high ground water), leveling the impact of all other factors. Heterogeneous taxonomic structure, diversity of life forms and floral elements indicate significant floristic richness of the study area, but also considering the geographical position of Crni Lug and its surroudings, points to the great influence of anthropogenic factors.
